Overview
COULD YOU CHANGE A YOUNG PERSON’S LIFE?
We’re looking for volunteers to tutor GCSE and A-Level students from disadvantaged backgrounds
1 hour per week during term time
The Access Project is an education charity that supports young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to access top universities – Every year only 4 in 100 disadvantaged young people secure a place at top institutions in the UK, our mission is to address this educational inequality.
The Access Project is reaching out as we are looking for professionals to tutor a young person aged 14-18 years, online, for 1 hour a week; starting from Sept 2022.
Volunteers will help facilitate the academic learning of students, collaboratively problem solving and acting as tutors to help reinforce young people’s knowledge.
All tutoring is delivered online, through a purpose built platform and tutors have access to our extensive resource library and professional support from our staff, as well as a nation-wide community of tutors. No prior teaching experience necessary, as we provide comprehensive training, induction and on boarding support which includes lesson planning, topic guidance and resources from The Access Project.
Tutorials will typically take place after school hours, starting no later than 6pm, and can be arranged on a week-by-week basis to fit both you and your student’s professional, academic and personal commitments.
